Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using bestmuscat.com (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Best Muscat is an online directory of businesses operating in or around Muscat, Oman. The directory may be browsed without an account. Some features (claiming a listing, uploading photos, editing your business information, premium placement) require a free account and, in some cases, an active paid subscription.

3. Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may sign out at any time. You may also request account deletion.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe to be involved in abuse, fraud, or illegal activity.

4. Claiming and managing a listing

• To claim a business you must be the legitimate owner or an authorised representative. We may verify your authorisation before approving a claim.
• Once your claim is verified, you may purchase a subscription that unlocks editing, photo uploads, and the "Featured" placement.
• Content you submit must be accurate, your own (or used with permission), lawful, and free of personal, offensive or misleading material.
• You grant Best Muscat a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute your submitted content as part of the Service.
• We may moderate, edit, or remove content at our discretion to maintain directory quality.

5. Subscriptions and billing

• Subscription plans, prices and renewal frequency are shown at checkout.
• All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you also accept Stripe's terms and authorise recurring charges to your saved payment method.
• Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us; cancellation stops future renewals but does not generate a pro-rata refund of the current period (see our Refund Policy).
• If a payment fails, we may retry per Stripe's defaults and may suspend editing access until payment is restored (a short grace period applies).
• We may change plans, prices or features. We will give reasonable advance notice for any change that affects existing subscribers' next renewal.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another business.
• Post unlawful, defamatory, deceptive, harassing, or sexually explicit content.
• Interfere with the Service, attempt to bypass security, scrape at unreasonable rates, or reverse-engineer our systems.
• Use the Service to send unsolicited communications.

7. Intellectual property

The Service design, source code, and aggregated content compilations are owned by Best Muscat. Business names, logos and individual listing data may belong to their respective owners and are used under fair-use or with permission. You retain ownership of content you submit, subject to the licence in section 4.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, accuracy of every listing, or that any particular listing will generate business outcomes.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Best Muscat will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, your right to access paid features ends; your data is retained or deleted per our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Muscat unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer-protection law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
